Post here if you are into cars. I like cars, especially those with big engines and that look awesome, like the Reventon and some uber porches/lambos

Later this year i am going to buy a Alfa Romeo T-spark 156, around the year 2000 model. I dunno if i should get black or red.. red might attract topless women faster though!

it is either that, or a Mitsubishi Magna VR-X 2002 TJ model, the model just before Mitsubishi fucked up the front of their cars to look more 'european'.. *sigh*

obviously it wont be those exact cars, however those are the models and colours i am looking for.

currently i have a 1992 ford falcon wagon, with custom black paintjob (by me and my brother LOL)

so yeah... now i am old enough i can get a real job, and a car of my own! One that doesnt use massive amounts of fuel hopefully..

I know I've been away/here periodically, but indeed, here I am. Ive been busy lately (I got a Job).

But, continuing, I own a 2000 Red Acura TL with a 3.2 Liter V6 (Mabye Pics later).

I have a serious love of autos, and know more than most should know about all sorts of cars. I've got a serious fettish for:
-El Caminos
-Wagons
-Mercedes
-Alfa Romeo
-Rear Wheel Drive
-Diesel

And I'm a commited reader of Jalopnik.com, one of the best websites evah!


However, at the begining of the year I will probally be purchasing a new car. ATM, anything is on the table, I've look at everything from the new 2009 Pontiac G8 GT (No V-6s here, Pushrods FTW. The Ponti is based on the Holden Commadore, btw, Kyran), Mercedes C300 (MT is a must), VW Tiguran/Toureg and the especially awsome Dodge Challanger (White, with the new R/T model, just like Kowalski in Vanishing Point) Any imput is appriciated!

btw, i know the pontiac is the american version of holden, which makes me laff - for it is therefore the american version of epic fail in the motorcar industry! I HATE HOLDEN ARRGH lol

why do you like wagons in general? currently i have a straight 6 cylinder 1992 ford falcon wagon, which is black instead of the standard turqoise. it rox my sox, but has been so fucked up by my sister i am itchin to get a more fuel efficient and luxury car (one un-fuckedup aircon would be nice)


I think you should get the Dodge Challenger, because they FUCKING ROCK especially the White one, as you said, because of Vanishing Point :P

I saw a movie called Death Proof recently, these stunt driver chicks get a car just like the one from vanishing point, and they totally fuck it up in the end (along with the baddie of course) lolol so that is why i recommend it. In the movie, it pwned hard!

Yea, I approve! I dunno if you watch/pirate Top Gear as avidly as I do, but like Jeremy Clarkson says, "Alfa's are true drivers cars, in the fullest sense," or something along the lines of that. I'd totally be game for buying a 159 (It it fell into the correct price range, damn Euro-Dollar devaluations), but Alfa "said" they would come to America in 2010-2011, but that's doubtful.

So, ya, I wanna look just like the Carabinieri. (I took this pic in Italy last summer. Perhaps I'll post more Vacation pics when I get time.)

I dunno If you read Jalopnik, but you really should Check this out. This is a grass-roots event called the "24 hours of Lemons" (Like the 24 hours of Le Mons) but the value of the car cannot exceed 500 USD. At the last running, 3 Alfa Milanos finished in the top 6.

Also, have a gander at this. The new Cadillac CTS Estate. GM has been on a roll lately, what with the G8 Ute, ahem, ST (I wanted it to be called the Ute, or the El Camino). Despite your dislike for Holden, GM has serious Cojones (that means balls) to bring a big, V8 Car/Truck to the US. Whether it sells or not, thats a different story.

On Wagons: They're awsome. Im not going to lie to you; I have an Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon as my desktop right now.

Wagons are especially cool when they have Enormous engines (See E63 AMG/BMW M5 Estates). In Amerika, the SUV rules the road. Wagons are different. They're cool. Its semi-retro, mostly badass.

I'll give you an example. Actually Ill reiterate Jeremy Clarkson's example. Park a Range Rover next to a E63 AMG. Take a guess at which one is pissed on first. We live in a time, and in a country, well many of us (America), where bigger is better. The big SUVs are seen as a status symbol, the bigger the better, the more important the person driving it is.

I will also echo ranwhenparked, who is dead on when he states that many SUVs have car-like characteristic. Well, how about buying a car? Cars are pretty much as safe as SUVs (think rollovers). Plus they're not murderous to park.

I know ive poured my wagon loving heart out somewhere else, but here again. Wagons were the SUV of the Baby Boomers parents. They all had assorted wagons, that, truth be told, were quite bad. And, so now, when they buy their cars, no body goes for wagons, becouse they're simply not cool. So, I have high hopes for future generations seeing SUVs as "not cool." However, things aren't exactly looking up.

One last thing. Wagons are cool becouse their unexpected. In America, no body expects a wagon, especially a high performance wagon. They're rare, they are unique, and they're just cool. Perhaps its becouse I see them as European-Cool kinda thing, but I really think its becouse there is nothing cooler than running a few hot laps then stopping for grocries on the way home.

Also, my heart longs for an E63 AMG T-Modell (in German) or the lovely E320 CDI T-Modell. I need not to remind you all of the Top Gear video we just saw. Wagons are not only cool, but i belive MORE cool than, say, a saloon E63 AMG.

The new models of 2008 were equipped with an 110 kW engine (the model year from 2003 with 92 kW). Nonturbo. You can get 221 kW with turbo but don't think about fuel consumption. lol

omfg i love RX 7 !! rotary engines should be more common, because they fucking pwn everything! i was gonna get a RX7 series 2 (around 1985 or something) non turbo 1.3L rotary for only $4,000 or something.. but i didnt in the end :(
