Alrighty, well where should i begin. Ive been musing over this a bit now, and ive done a bit of research on the differences between SS, Waffen SS, and the Wehrmacht .
I propose a redo of how SS and Waffen SS type units are implemented in the game. 2 basic ideas.
1. Have a building, perhaps simply a reskinned Krige Barracks, with German units, perhaps after we get all the modding bugs out, units that are already pre-elite, i.e. no need for upgrades except to make them better than the elite in the game. Not sure if this is possible. . .
2. In just the Kreige Barracks, we could put reskinned SS type tanks, infantry and guns, like in game if you were to station your Waffen-SS StormSquad on a Pak38, that would be buildable.
Obviousuly making new models and fixing the bugs in the mod that is already done are far more important, but its only a suggustion, and i wont be angry if you all think its stupid.

That wouldn't be a horrible idea, perhaps there could be an SS doctrine instead of Terror which allows you to get them?

hmm.. yeah, but let's keep it to a single building instead of having 2-3 more to keep track on. In real life, the SS weren't equipted with the best of the best.. but they where ruthless... so spreading fear on the battlefield? hm?
My thoughts:
Schutzstaffel units:
basic units:
Schützetruppe mit Scharführer (Troops with groupleader)
armed with K98 and a single mp40, can be upgraded with flamethrower. (Eihhandgranate?)
more to come, going to work now

A different barracks for SS and Wehrmacht sounds pretty cool. I wouldnt mind seeing a third barracks for Volks Grenadier type units either.
BTW, Jonez, that Tiger you pictured above (A T-55 conversion featured on Modern Marvels/History Channel) Looks terrible! That Russian chassis makes it look like a hippo wearing high heels.
There has got to be a better/historically accurate picture out there, eh? :)

No, I knew it was the T-55 conversion. It was about 2:00 AM and i was really frekin tired. I just decited to post it anyway. Now that I compare it to a real tiger one, i rethink my post. Heres the only restored real Tiger I at the Bovington tank museum during tankfest 04 (it says, i wasnt actuallythere...)
Also, what i intened to say was that we reskin one building, i suggusted the Kreige Barracks, but it could be anyone, and then build only SS-type units there. The SS and Waffen SS were not actually part of the regular Wehermaht (sp sorry), but insted tagged along, doing special duties, as well as had their own seperate military units, ranks and leadership.
The good part of this idea is that you get a whole new game play element, with out all new units.

to continue my list:
Schutzstaffel units:
basic units:
- Schützetruppe mit Scharführer (Troops with groupleader)
armed with K98 and a single mp40, can be upgraded with flamethrower. (Eihhandgranate?) mainly used for general infantry, a bit more expenisive than their wehrmacht counterparts.
- Schützetruppe mit Hauptscharführer (3 x troops with Head Squad Leader)
armed with K98s and a couple of mp40, can be upgraded with flamethrower and extra mp40s. mainly used for early game infantry rushes.
- Sturmtruppen mit Hauptsturmführer (storm troopers with captain)
armed with k98 and a couple of STG44s, can be upgraded with up to 5 karbiner 43 (g43) and a panzershreck. "commando units" expensive but is worth it.

Nice pics, guys!
So maybe something like this would work? (add suggestions, please)
SS barracks: Waffen SS Grenadiers, SS MG teams, SS AT Teams...?
Wehrmacht Barracks: PZ Gren/Grenadiers, AT teams, combat Engineers...?
Volks Barracks: Polize Units, Volks Grens, engineers...?

Read my previous posts.
SS Headquaters:
- Schützetruppe mit Scharführer (Troops with groupleader)
armed with K98 and a single mp40, can be upgraded with flamethrower. (Eihhandgranate?) mainly used for general infantry, a bit more expenisive than their wehrmacht counterparts.

- Maybe we can include a SS sturmtruppe mit MG.34 (can be upgraded to MG42 for extra firepower)
Wehrmacht Headquarters.
you deside, I'l just stick to the SS

well i've always wanted some kind of 'veterans quarters' for the allies, with pre- 3 stripe squads that cost another 100manpower but are very tough and last a long time in battle... would be nice :D
countering that i wanted an SS barracks, with SS versions of the normal Wehrmacht units like the SS Grenadiers, SS Sniper, SS Pioneers, SS Sturmgrenadiers, etc... with black SS uniforms (i know it isnt exactly realistic but at least you'll know what is what.. ) and swasticas everywhere :D

:p - ditto on the black uniforms and swasticas everywhere - :p
It's about fun, gameplay, and semi-realistic gameply. There is no game out there the is realistic except for the real thing. Unfortunately WWII was many years ago, we can't go back and experience it, and the ability to create our fantasy world right here with KMOD is our only emersion of reality into WWII.
So until Kyranzor can create a full body emersion of KMOD with full touch, sound, smell, with 360 degree view.... I guess we will have to live with SEMI-REALISM and kick-ass gameplay.

Yeah I like that idea. I also think that the doctrines should be: Wehrmacht, SS, and Luftwaffe.

Not much point in Luftwaffe, it barely did anything after 1943.

yeah maybe kriegsmarines or something as the third one ... or the Panzer Lehr

Panzer Division would be great, Kriegsmarine is pointless right now, if you have no naval battles there is no point adding naval doctrine.

Jah, the panzer Lehr would be a nice addition.

What would become of the SS doctrine when the expansion (stand alone) pack comes out? The new German side is practically the SS if you know what I mean.
