I was wondering if you guys would like me to create a stand-a-lone front end for KMOD? The idea is simple:

I want to create a program that loads KMOD automatically with a feel of a program you bought at the store. Possibly even skipping the COH default menu. Within this program it would have the basics: link to website, link to contacts, etc. However, I would also like to add the ability to change some of the information within the loader before ever launching KMOD.


Ability to change POP CAP with a selection within the loader.
Ability to select other changes to the mod: Skin pack, other modifications to kmod, etc.
Ability to easily send FEEDBACK without ever visiting the forums or website.
Donation / credits / etc section
News section updated by RSS feeds or similar application.
Update KMOD section. Allow the ability to check for new updated versions of KMOD.
CHAT - chat with other users who are playing kmod straight from the front end loader.
Link to a ventrillo or teamspeak server (if possible) for KMOD users to all congregate and play. Giving download links for any third party software built in if they do not already have the software installed.Good idea...??? Bad idea...???

oh... and probably a built in web browser so that we can direct people to official sites and links making sure they are viewable. (no firefox or explorer issues)

well would that be very resource taking ? i mean money XD , also if it can done , adding the language files (like Germans speaking germans in game) would be a nice add XD

It wouldn't cost any money... The only thing it would cost is my time and devotion, space to host final version on, and if possible a ventrillo server or teamspeak server hosted somewhere.

LANGUAGE FILES: Yes this would be awesome to release it with these options. You could even have a scaled back version for people who don't want to download the front end, but would benefit them if they did.

well, unless there is some kind of 'temporary' folder in which it can do its file swapping for population changing etc it wont really be possible. direct editing of the file through that option would be impossible unless this frontend program had a RGD editor intergrated into it.

KMOD will soon be using a .exe to load, and this will make it possible to add our own short movie to the loadup of COH, as well as full capability to change the background art, music, icons/buttons and everything like that. cool huh?

Well it's not impossible for me, but I was leaning toward the lazy end there where you just pull the file based on the users selection. It wouldn't really cause the file to be much bigger than it already is.

yeah, seeing as all the different options (maybe incrementals of 50 population) would only come to about 100kb of files hehe

it sounds like a good idea, i suppose you could make a base for the program and we could add to it later?
