The game Faces of War is devoted to the final period of World War II in Europe: the summer of 1944 - the spring of 1945. During this period mighty battles were held in France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary and Germany. The German war machine was making every possible effort to defend the territory of Third Reich from the Soviet and Allied troops. However, during 11 months the German resistance was crushed at all the front lines and the war ended where it had begun - in Berlin.
Does anyone play it? ( I know Fiffa and Kyranzor, but anone else?)

*Outfront 2*

Outfront 2 is the sequel to Faces of War, I believe that Outfront 2 is the name since the the installer is called so. The reason why it ain't called Faces of War 2, is that Ubisoft who owns the name aren't in the team that makes Outfront 2. Till now there is only a Closed Beta that is playable.How to play:
1. First you have to register at the forums at Digitalmindsoft (http://digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/index.php).

2. After that you post a reply in this thread: CLICKY (http://digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=572).

3. Download THIS (http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/outcoming/downloads/outfront2-v1.29.0-beta.exe) (Game Resources) and THIS (http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/outcoming/downloads/outfront2-v1.29.0-beta-executables.exe) (.exe file)

note: Remember that there are possibilities that you wont get a CD-Key, so wait 10mins and see if you get a private message on the forums. (Can take longer time)



After you have installed the beta, just click on Online in the menu, write you CD-Key, make a GameSpy Account and there you go.

I play it all the time.
WW2Game mod isn't very good, trust me.
Real War is greatest mod out now.
Finnish Mod and Pacific Assault will probably be never completed.
ASM and Dollitle's mod doesn't seem like they'll be released again any time soon.
The Desert War mod and Modern Warfare mod will be two great mods once their out.

Pacific Assault is nearly 60% done, so expect to see some release soon ^^ ...

But why does ww2game take nealy 160mb and Realwar like 30mb?
ww2game gotta have something more than Realwar, anyways, all other players I meat play some of ww2games version (0.9, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0)

With the WW2Game mod, as soon as the author(Ryan_bg) changes something he puts it up for download, when really he should wait until he has made mass changes, then release a new version. Basically, all it is the Real War and Jarea's WW2Game mod(which was good in its heyday) Stuffed together, with some crappy imported models from S:HOWWII. Real War is a great mod, the greatest around at this moment, but people have just overlooked it. In the Real War mod, the author(PurpleFr) has worked well by making some superb models and fixing the issues and making the gameplay more realistic and fun. Real War makes a great MP Game. I've been on the
FoW eamped forum for about 5 months now, and I know there is many people who say their making a mod, just to get attention, then they just leave it. Pacific Assault and Finnish Mod are two examples. Noones posted in them threads for ages unless it is spam. I just got latest version of Desert War Beta, so I'm sure we are preparing for a betatest soon, which means a public version soon.;)

I know you are an active member of FoW.eamped, I'm also visiting the forum, but I haven't yet registred myself.
I just want to play the mod with the most units, e.g vehicles and planes. (Planes are kinda funny, but hard to turn...=/ ),
So if you can give me a list of units in Real War (If you are REALLY nice ^^)
I may consider change to it.... (to demaning?)

BTW, is Desert War Beta public, or is it only for VIP's (Team, BetaTesters etc..?) Its a mod I can't wait to play. (FLAK 88 :D)

Desert War Beta is for ViP at the moment, but we are preparing for Public release very soon. You can expect a Major Betatest from our Betatesters soon, which we will post about on our forum. You will see many new vehicles, skins, infantry, cannons, armor data, Weapon Penetration data....etc in our mod. Plus new MP Maps and SP Maps. I'm sure it will be a great mod for FoW.
I will post a list of whats in Real War, once I find out where I've put all my mods.

COH has the graphic on its hand, because COH take more space then FoW, you’ll experience less graphic lag, (what I’ve heard) But if you use a good graphic card, you’ll not have the problem.
CoH gives you more intense close-combats, because in FoW, you can win with just standing around. A big difference is that you don’t build in FoW, like you do in CoH; you just spawn your unit and move it to action. And in CoH you need to capture sectors (flags) to get rescores, which in FoW you get of killing, time and max-limits.
Mods
CoH hasn’t yet has the ability to use custom-models, just skins. That’s gives the mods an end, if not the model exporter releases 100%. Modding of CoH makes the game more realistic though.

FoW is more tactical then COH, with also a better AI(even as it is still dumb). Graphics is better at COH, since the Essence Engine is better and newer. FoW player’s experience a lot of unwanted lag, which is both Internet lag and Performance lag. FoW has also (unmodded) more vehicles then COH, for more tactical wars.
Mods
FoW has the ability to use custom-models, since the engine has already been used in S: HoWW2 and it was easy to import new models. Some mods give you plenty of new Vehicles like Airplanes and new Tanks.

I played the demo, have to say I prefer CoH, FoW isn't my style of game, I dislike controlling one man at a time. If I wanted that I would get Dungeon Siege or something like that.

you actually control huge armies in FoW, just the missions are usually a small group of about 3-4 men (which you do NOT have to control individually)

Yeah I played the demo. But somehow I don't know all the angles and zooming in stuff, and sometimes I get frustrated with how the AI are doing something. I guess I don't know a lot of stuff, so I wasn't too pleased with it. But I can tell it has a lot of details too and the cool stuff it has is that you tank can overrun buildings and soldiers down which something CoH needs seriously improve on. I saw some footage on Battle of the Bulge on this game before, it looks cool. Hope CoH can develop something like that in the future. Right now, for me, I think CoH still stays ahead, but don't get offended, cos I play more CoH and I'm really beginner in Faces of war. :)

In the start I also was frustrated, but I got used to it. I see now when I played the week with 50 hours of FOW, I had to play KMOD for 3-4 days before I got used to the Angles button xD!

I am afraid Desert War is no longer downloadable or useable. Apparently our mod leader took some of the models without permission from a BF2 Mod, Forgotten Hope. It was a misunderstanding as he thought the models were available without permission. I thought the models were genuine and had been given permission for, but they weren't. Hardly any of our mod team knew. So sorry, no more Desert War.(Unless you've already got it)

Well it's always nice to ask to use models anyway, if he had of done that then there wouldn't be the problem.
Just for you know, FH2 isn't out yet, he must have ripped models from FH for BF1942 not BF2 ;-).
